LEATHER AND COLORS More current color information  LEATHER:  The leather used in Fist quivers is a thinner version of the leather used in our holsters.  Fist quivers are made of vegetable tanned “Top Grain” cowhide, meaning that the surface has not been resurfaced as so many leathers are.  This type of leather molds to the arrow tubes which gives our quivers a very unique look, in fact, our quivers are the only ones on the market that are made of this type of quality leather.  This leather also polishes to a beautiful shine.  Top grain cowhide also shows some natural marks, which is your assurance of the quality of our leather.  This type of leather tends to be a bit stiff when finished, but it is in the shoe leather family and will soften with use as shoes break in after wear.  Our quivers are made completely of leather.  There is no plastic piping or cloth binding used.  ALL OF OUR PIPING AND EDGES  ARE MADE OF LEATHER.  COLORS:   Our leather begins with a natural color and is dyed by hand to the color or colors of your choice. Since we hand dye these quivers there are a few variables that should be noted:  Colors don’t always match exactly and the colors aren’t always perfectly even.  This is just a reality of this type of leather and dying process.  If you should want a pocket added you will have to accept that it is very difficult for us to match anything exactly.  The darker the color though, the more consistency you can expect.  We feel that the subtle differences in the leather colors make our quivers extremely beautiful.  The five colors available are: Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Mahogany,and Black.  These colors can be mixed or matched to your liking.    This is an attempt to give our customers a ballpark idea of our colors.   Obviously they aren’t exact but it is a good starting point.  The photos of our quivers on this website are usually lighter than the actual color because of the lights used.   LIGHT BROWN- This color will have the most variation, but the effect can be quite beautiful.  Light brown can range from a yellow tint to a dark sand color with darker highlights.   MEDIUM BROWN- Medium brown is a rusty brown color with darker highlights.  A very nice warm brown color. DARK BROWN- Dark brown is a usual brown with a touch of a reddish tint.  This color will be more consistent than light brown or medium brown. MAHOGANY- Mahogany is a beautifully rich mix of brown and red to give a  wine colored leather that is truly unique and beautiful.
