A Ginacue was the object of this project. I was to mimmick the work on the cue. After many attempts to copy wood in leather I came up with a stylized version of the snakewood which captures the feel using the best qualities of the wood and the best qualities of the leather. I did inlays of French Ivory(imitation) and made sure that they were fashioned in a way that would not allow them to come out as the case gets older and softer. After the initial work on the leather outside, the construction became an issue. It had a small central area which Randy wanted to have access to with pockets. The problem was that the pockets would not be accessable unless they were able to open much wider than was allowed by the length of the zipper. This problem was solved by extending the zipper under the spacer and making it so it was flexable and the zipper would pull down as the pocket was opened giving much greater acces to the pocket area. It was to look as much like a cue as possible, which meant that the lock had to be to the inside. This meant more pressure on the lock and all of the structure around it because the shoulder strap would hold the weight on the lock side. Very small D-rings were used which are steel reinforced and the cap and lower area is reinforced with Kydex(moldable plastic). This case is a 2x4.
There are many possibilities to recreate your cue on the outside of the case. I can many times use the same materials that are in your cue. Also the amount of work will determine the price.
