Knife fighting tapes for Law Enforcement Officers
and Military Personnel.

For the last five years I have studied knife fighting privately with Professor David James. Professor James is the successor to the renowned Professor Vee whose Vee Arnis Jitsu System has set new standards in the art of street self-defense. Professor James' emphasis is on practical self-protection skills for real-life dangerous situations, as opposed to flashy looking techniques. During the time that I've studied knife fighting under Professor James my confidence in everyday life has risen tremendously due to the almost complete equalization of strength that results from learning how to use a knife skillfully. Size doesn't matter. How long the other person studied martial arts, boxing, grappling, or almost any other art except knife fighting doesn't matter. Knife fighting skill is a great equalizer.

This series of tapes is designed to teach you knife fighting as though you were taking private lessons with Professor James. The knife fighting tape series is done in real time so you can practice with the tape and know how to practice. This is very important when learning any martial art. Watching a superior athlete perform is entertaining, but knowing how he learned and even practicing with him is invaluable. The first tape in the series includes a pattern chart and two practice knives. I wanted to make sure that when you use these tapes, you understand how knife fighters actually practice to achieve the skill level seen on the tape. A lot of knife technique tapes show you moves, but that is all they show you. You don't know how they practice, how many times they do each movement or what kind of drills they do. Knife techniques take a lot of repetition for a very simple reason: As with all martial arts, there must be an almost unconscious connection between your mind and your body movements. This can only be achieved with repetition of movements. Most knife technique tapes attempt to sell you on the idea that the moves demonstrated are done for particular situations that you will be able to recognize, simultaneously remembering the appropriate response in order to prevail. Well, if you accept that, there is a bridge that runs right past my factory that I'd like to sell you. The only way that you will become proficient in any martial art, and this is a martial art, is if you have a wide range of responses resulting from your training -- not from individual moves that you try to memorize. Reality is much too quick, and you will never be able to respond fast enough. And, as you probably know, the guy you always have the biggest problem with never seems to do it the way that it is done on the tape.

In the spirit of a private lesson, Professor James takes you through the techniques step by step and then does them with you as though you were taking a lesson from him personally. This gives you a great insight into what is necessary to become proficient in knife fighting. I participate in these tapes and can attest to the fact that this is what we have done to teach me these techniques.

This series of tapes should be viewed and practiced in sequence. After mastering one, then move on to the next in the series. Let's face it, you didn't go to college before you graduated kindergarten. Trying to master difficult movements before you have the basic foundation of the art is a waste of your time and money. This is the perfect place for that old adage that a little knowledge can be dangerous; and we might add, over-confidence as well.

Although Professor James sells these tapes to martial artists, http://www.veearnisjitsu.com, I will only sell to police officers and active armed services personnel. Over the years I have sold our training gear to police officers and the military. I realized that if I limited the sale of these tapes to card carrying police officers and military personnel, there would be the least risk that this knowledge would be misused. And that is very important to me.
